Context of Trump’s Speech, Words, Bloodbath (American Issues Take One)

Echos of Jan 6 Resurface. The hosts for this show are Tim Apicella and Jay Fidell. The guest is Louise Ing.

In Ohio, Trump began his rally by standing to the National Anthem sung by convicted Jan 6 insurrectionists. It wasn’t the first time, and he will continue until his campaign stops. Then Trump made clear he will pardon the Jan 6 ‘convicted hostages’. That’s the context of the speech. The words he spoke that fit within this context were, ‘Now if I don’t get elected, it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country.’ His defenders cry those words need to be viewed in context. The media is doing exactly that. The panel explores the unraveling of Trump at the podium.
