Speaker Johnson Does Right Thing for Ukraine (American Issues Take One)
House Speaker Johnson Allows Vote to Fund. The hosts for this show are Tim Apicella and Jay Fidell. The guest is Cynthia Lee Sinclair.
House Speaker Mike Johnson took the time to listen. He listened to CIA Director William Burns about what Putin will do to the other Baltic states once, not if, Russia takes over Ukraine. Speaker Johnson educated himself and decided being on the right side of history was more important than keeping his speaker position or carrying Trump’s agenda in this matter. Duty to country over blind loyalty to party or to a party strongman has been a rare demonstration of independence we have not witnessed from a GOP leader for years. It was a rare and surprising moment. What happens to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s promise to remove Speaker Johnson will soon play out in the next few weeks. Democrats may vote to deflect Greene’s attempt to vacate Speaker Johnson and reward him for doing the right thing by supporting Ukraine.
