SCOTUS Judges Gaslight America (American Issues Take One)
Recent Court Decisions Political Based. The hosts for this show are Tim Apicella and Jay Fidell. The guest is Benjamin Davis.
The Dobbs v. Jackson decision reversed 50 years of established law (Roe v. Wade). During the Senate Selection Committee hearings , Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett, and Neil Gorsuch testified they had no intent to reverse established law that impacted the health of millions of American women. Yet, that is exactly what they did when deciding in favor of the Dobbs case. Was that an example of gaslighting the Senate or was it borderline perjury? The Court agreement to hear Lorie Smith’s case to refuse creating a website for gay wedding couples was based on a hypothetical event. Her claim never took place. The alleged client wasn’t gay, nor did he ever request creation of a website. Yet, SCOTUS decided against on important established public accommodation law. Deciding important case law based on cases that never occurred is not a practice of SCOTUS. Yet, it just occurred. Who is gaslighting the public that this was an actual event? We discuss several recent cases decided by SCOTUS.
