Agenda for the 30-min prep meetings before webinars:
APPEARANCE
Don’t touch your hair or face, avoid scratching, no food or drink
Look at the camera as much of the time as you can, not away
Watch yourself on the Zoom screen to see how you look
Keep your notes on screen near where the camera is
Change the position of your monitor / camera so that at the top of your head is 3/4 from top of screen
Make sure the Zoom and lower thirds titles for you are correct
Watch yourself on the Zoom screen to see how you look
VIDEO
Watch for sunlight and shadows moving through the show
Make sure you have enough light so that you can see the definition of your face
Avoid having windows or bright white items behind you
Frame yourself to that the bottom of screen is just above your elbows
Don’t swivel or move around or forward or backward on your chair
Use Blur on Zoom’s Video Setting Virtual Background, download it if necessary
Turn you video off, but don’t drop out of Zoom, if you leave
AUDIO
Turn your phone off
Turn off notifications on your computer operating system
Make sure there is no background noise, close your doors, warn people and pets
Turn off auto sound in Zoom Audio Settings, and adjust to be at the same level as the other panelists
Don’t raise the voice when you speak, and certainly don’t whisper
You can leave mute off unless there is background noise
Otherwise use alt-A to toggle mute on and off to avoid noise
Check the noice suppression functions in audio settings
PARTICIPATION
Be ready for a timely start – do everything you can to help us avoid delay in starting
Listen, and make sure to answer the questions posed to you
Try to avoid interrupting other speakers
Don’t worry, we’ll edit and clean up the video if necessary
Don’t go beyond the time specified in the script for your remarks
Keep the chat open and look for instructions from the engineers
Use chat to react and make suggestions to other panelists
You’ll also see comments from the general attendees there
Look at both the chat and Q&A windows for questions
