From a physical therapist’s standpoint, walking can be the cause of your foot, knee, hip or low back pain if your mechanics are not up to par. If you don’t have the necessary range of motion, flexibility and strength in the muscles and joints used during walking, abnormal motion ensues, causing repetitive wear and tear of your tissues leading to pain, tendon injuries, or worse, degenerative joint disease.
