Vaccines in Restaurants & Businesses (Restaurants of Hawaii)
Discussion on Vaccines in our Industry. The host for this episode is Jay Fidell. The guests for this episode are Sheryl Matsuoka, Chivon Garcia and Emily Marr.
Although COVID vaccines have become available, not everyone wants to or can take them. People may opt not to take a vaccine since it may go against their religion or they cannot take it due to a compromised immune system. There may be many other reasons other than the ones mentioned. Restaurants and businesses are concerned if some of their employees are not willing or able to receive vaccines. Unvaccinated employees will run the risk of falling ill to COVID or spreading it to unvaccinated customers or co-workers. Employers cannot deny employment on the basis that they refuse the vaccine since the company could be sued for discrimination. Restaurants may run into this situation as they work to provide a safe environment for their patrons.
