Human Rights is Everyone’s Business (Cooper UNion)
Guiding Principles and a Potential Treaty. The host for this show is Joshua Cooper. The guest is Emmanuelle Diehl.
Globalization is a force changing and challenging many communities and every country. Corporations in partnership with multinational forces deny basic rights and prevent ability to promote, protect, respect and fulfill human rights. During earlier centuries, businesses pursued profit over people and planet. However, in the 21st century, peoples movements have created partnerships for fundamental freedoms rooted in free, prior and informed consent as well as upholding universal values. The world has created Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and began creating a global treaty to hold corporations accountable and create a transparent supply chain to ensure equality and equity for all on earth.
