At 8:07 am on Saturday, January 13, 2018, the Emergency Management authorities in Hawaii sent out an emergency alert advising all residents that there was a ballistic missile threat inbound to Hawaii, that they should seek immediate shelter, and that this was not a drill. This message, as we now know, was false.

In the minutes after 8:07 am, our ThinkTech reporter Tim Apicella took to the streets to find out what people were thinking and what they had done after receiving the alert. This is one of the on the street interviews Tim conducted. There are others on our ThinkTech Hawaii YouTube channel.

ThinkTech Hawaii streams live on the Internet from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm every weekday afternoon, Hawaii Time, then streaming earlier shows through the night. Check us out any time for great content and great community.

Our vision is to be a leader in shaping a more vital and thriving Hawaii as the foundation for future generations. Our mission is to be the leading digital media platform raising public awareness and promoting civic engagement in Hawaii.
