Fortress Conservation. The host for this show is Jay Fidell. The guest is Stella Pizzato.

Protected areas are considered one of the leading strategies to counter climate change. Historically, protected areas have been problematic, given that they have usually been created on Indigenous Peoples’ ancestral lands, invoking processes including land dispossession, human rights violations, and the commission of foreseeable violent crimes. All of these elements threaten the survival of Indigenous Peoples, who were once the guardians of the coveted lands.
