A Million Miles of EV Mobility (Hawaii: State Of Clean Energy)
Driving on Sunshine. The host for this show is Mitch Ewan. The guest is Toby Kinkaid.
Traditional EV infrastructure is challenging. Expensive grid upgrades, real time unscheduled electrical loads, and huge power demands make EV charging no ‘walk in the park’. However, there are new solutions for EV charging using solar energy directly in the strangest of places: the parking lot. Parking lots are bathed in solar energy and new technology is emerging to provide affordable solar EV Level 2 charging combined with the convenience of the parking lot. This episode explores the options available for battery EV charging and the solutions which exist for charging Light-Duty cars and trucks in Hawai’i using 100% clean solar energy harvested from parking lots throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The discussion explores the feasibility of producing a Million Miles of 100% clean Mobility per month in Hawai’i.
