Transitional Justice in Afghanistan (Transitional Justice)
Gendered Inclusion in Afghanistan. The host for this show is Jay Fidell. The guest is Anni Lindén.
For decades, Afghanistan has been a playground for great power politics. Come post-9/11 era, Afghan women’s rights became the centre of the international discussion, along with “bringing democracy” to Afghanistan.
In this episode, we discuss whether and how Afghan women were included in the peace process, who gets the say on what state-building and peace mean in different contexts, and the issues in foreign interference in a state’s transition to peace. Now, with Taliban having taken over the country again, history has repeated itself. What could we have done differently before the US retreated from Afghanistan in 2021?
Transitional Justice is coordinated together with Project Expedite Justice.
