A forthcoming webinar by Dr. William Bahnfleth. The host for this episode is Jay Fidell. The guest for this episode is Howard Wiig.

Howard Wiig will talk about a 90-minute webinar to be presented for DBEDT by Dr. William Bahnfleth, author or co-author 170 technical articles and author of 14 books or chapters.

Dr. Bahnfleth has been studying the germicidal properties of ultraviolet (UV) lighting for 20 years. His discussion includes the ability of UV-C light to destroy the Covid-19 virus.

UV-C light has been used extensively in hospitals and is now emerging as a potent force in disinfecting hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, gyms, airports and offices The NYC transit system is disinfecting its subway cars and plans to expand to disinfecting buses and train cars.

Included in the discussion is a description of “pulsed light” which destroys Covid-19 with powerful flashes of energy.

There are many models of pulsed light fixtures including portable units that can be moved from room to room, disinfecting each. One operator can treat many rooms in an 8-hour shift. This may assist hotels in assuring guests that their room has been sterilized, thus helping to revitalize the hospitality industry while lessening the prospect of renewed Covid-19 activity.
