On the journey from traditional academic to physics phenom, we discuss how the willingness to take risks has let me explore the physics of superheroes, aliens and faith. This has opened new opportunities of outreach to the general public, including appearing as an expert on a range of television shows, radio programs, podcasts, and even panels at ComicCon. Much of this work culminated in a book on science and faith – Divine SCience, Finding Reason at the Heart of Faith. Along the way, a creative approach to problem solving has focused on cross-pollinating Ideas from coaching soccer, to teaching, to creating an entirely new administrative unit within the university. This approach Integrates ways of thinking about risk-taking, panic, fear of being wrong, to name just a few Issues.
