Respecting Local Culture and Behaviors (Transitional Justice)
Limits to Enforce International Values. The host for this show is Jay Fidell. The guest is Mauricio de Araujo.
We discuss the experiences and thoughts of a transitional justice field worker about the challenges faced in experiencing different local cultures, many times deeply rooted, that went against the very basic principles of Human Rights and its protection. Also, the importance and negative effects when imposing the international culture and behaviors in a way that can be found as offensive for the host country and local partners. We discuss examples of what he faced during his field missions.
Transitional Justice is coordinated with Project Expedite Justice.
