Where Communication Meets Innovation.. Our topic is “FORWARD FOREVER” with guests, Akiemi Glenn, PhD. Akiemi is the founder and curator of the Popolo Project, a multimedia exploration of Blackness in Hawai’i and the larger Pacific. David Goldberg, Project Coordinator, Digital Arts and Humanities Initiative. Currently he is a freelance arts and culture writer, programmer, and PhD student in the American Studies department of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
We will be discussing the History of Juneteenth, Juneteenth Celebrations, Phase 2 of the Honolulu African American Film Festival (HAAFF) in partnership with The Popolo Project, Black Futures, Black History Month and reviews of the Black Panther Movie.
