Ending Poverty Housing with Jim Murphy
The Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity, Jim Murphy, joined our guest host, Ethan Allen in the studio. Jim and Ethan focused on ending poverty housing with discussion on Honolulu Habitat for Humanity’s efforts in collaboration with the Oahu communities to provide adequate quality housing for families in need. Home ownership has both economic and societal benefits for families. It can help to keep the family together, strengthen financial situation and develop a sense of pride. And the community benefits too. People who own homes in communities tend to spend more money in their communities, volunteer in the communities and establish relationships with neighbors and businesses. Everyone benefits from a community with high home ownership.
