Discrimination against Asian Americans (The Middle Way)
Racial Discrimination of Asian Americans. The host for this episode is Jay Fidell. The guests for this episode are Russell Leu and Nathan H. Madson.
Spit on, yelled at, attacked, and brutally murdered- crimes are being committed daily against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders, including marginalized groups within this space, are being subject to ever-growing violent acts of discrimination. Was last week’s murder of six Asian American women in Atlanta allegedly committed by a young white male, in part or whole, a racially motivated act? Why is this happening? The “Kung-Flu”, “China Virus” inflammatory rhetoric of former President Trump undoubtedly has played an incendiary role. President Biden calls this “Un-American.” But racism is American as it is part of America’s history and its institutions. We explore the reasons, the untold history and what must be done. “This must stop,” as Pres. Biden warns.
