Artificial Intelligence (Think Tech Asia)
The race is on between China and the U.S. – the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in our daily lives. Amazon has just opened today it’s first grab and go grocery convenience store- all without having to stand in a checkout line or swiping a debit card. After you scan your QR code, sensors will monitor when you pick goods from a shelf, and when you leave the store – your Amazon account is automatically charged. Replacing the human component, Amazon’s success will depend a lot on AI. We should care because AI technology will change our lives- if Amazon Go is any indication. On the other side of the globe, China had already opened similar AI stores- last year. Is China ahead in AI development? What are the reasons for China’s remarkable success with artificial intelligence and how it impacts us in the U.S.? Why should you care about AI?
