Prof. Bailey teaches world history, Japanese history and Asian history at Kansai Gaidai University in Hyogo Japan. He received his PhD from UH Manoa and taught at UC Berkeley before moving to Japan. In addition to his interest in film and history, he has published on the Russian colonization of Central Asia, the history of travel and research expeditions, geography, ethnography. and economic and social history.
