700 Million People In China On The Move
700 million people on the move, the largest migration of people on this October 1. It’s half the population of China- everyone is on the move. The world’s largest migration occurs from October 1 to 8. Why are they on the move? Where are they going? How are they affecting us all ? It’s China’s National Day holiday celebrating the country’s founding similar to our 4th of July Independence Day. Unlike other countries, such as the US celebrating the 4th of July with patriotic events and parades, China’s people celebrate the holidays by traveling, spending lots of money and shopping –the largest migration in the world – 700 million people are on the move. A large number, according to CTrips China’s largest online travel operator, will travel overseas for holidays in exotic places – 6 million travelers. The economic impact of the Chinese during this one-week period affects all of us globally. Watch our interview live from Beijing with an on the ground perspective via video feed.
