What is an Entrepreneur in Residence?
Casey Lau is our guest for this episode of The Art of Thinking Smart with David Chang. Casey is “Entrepreneur-In-Residence” at Honolulu’s leading venture capital incubator, Blue Startups.
Blue Startups is a Top 20 Accelerator in the US (Techcrunch) focused on helping scalable-technology companies including web, software and mobile compete on a global scale. With an extensive global network, Blue Startups is fast becoming a nexus of entrepreneurial activity in Hawai‘i, and between Asia and North America.
Casey Lau is one of the leaders of Blue Startups, together with Henk Rogers, Maya Rogers and Chenoa Farnsworth. He is one of Hong Kong’s tech startup pioneers, and has successfully launched startups in the fields of web design, e-commerce, and media development. He along with two other co-founders formed StartupsHK in 2009 to ignite the startup scene in Hong Kong through a series of conferences and networking events – and helped grow the Hong Kong ecosystem from the original four founders to over 5,000 members today.
He joined Blue Startups recently, and brings his entrepreneurial talents to the investors and growing companies of Hawaii, connecting them to resources in Asia.
