The Will to Persevere – Dr. Bernard Robinson
Dr. Bernard Robinson was one of the first ten Afro-American students to matriculate at the University of South Florida, the first Afro-American accepted into the military neurosurgery program and first Afro-American Neurosurgeon in the U.S. Army. During his tenure at Tripler Army Medical Center here in Hawaii, Dr. Robinson became the chief of neurosurgery at Tripler, served as the chief of neuroscience and chief neurosurgeon at Kaiser, and has been instrumental in advancing neuroscience in Hawaii. Dr. Robinson is also serving as the President Elect of the Hawaii Medical Association.
