The Holomua Program – Stacy Paris, Sydney O’Neal, Kendra Chong and Justine Espiritu
The Holomua Program was designed to give students at Castle High School the opportunity to form a meaningful relationship with a caring and responsible adult mentor from the community. This online mentoring program is the first of its kind for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii programs. Holomua promotes college and career readiness, and aims to increase the number of Castle High School students who go on to pursue an education at a post-secondary institution. Today Justine will talk to the program’s founder as well as an on-going match about the expectations they had going into the program, how it has developed over this pilot period, and what the experience has been like for one of the program’s matches.
