Short-term Rentals in Jeopardy (Hawaii Together)
Bill 41 Could Squash Short-term Rentals. The host for this show is Keli’i Akina. The guests are Ed Jones and Peggy Aurand.
Honolulu City Council members are considering a measure, Bill 41, that would limit “short-term” rentals on Oahu to no less than 180 days at a time. Vacation rental owners Ed Jones and Peggy Aurand say the bill, if enacted into law, would be devastating for Hawaii’s vacation rental industry. With “Hawaii Together” host Keli‘i Akina, they discuss better policy approaches that would benefit both vacation rental owners and Oahu residents generally.
