Justice Paul Anderson is a native of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and a graduate of Eden Prairie High School. Anderson Lakes in Eden Prairie, Minnesota is named after his family. He is a graduate of Macalester College, Saint Paul, Minnesota (1965) and a graduate the University of Minnesota Law School (1968). On September 1, 1992 he was appointed the Chief Judge of the Minnesota Court of Appeals by Governor Arne Carlson. He was appointed to the Minnesota Supreme Court July 1, 1994 by Governor Carlson. He was reelected to the bench in 1996, 2002, and 2008. He has given numerous national and international lectures, i.e. data privacy, election law, condemnation law, redistricting, etc. He has lectured in: El Salvador, China (four times), the Philippines, Russia, Tunisia, Libya and the Republic of Georgia. In this episode of ‘A Nation of Immigrants,’ Justice Paul Anderson shares his life stories, jurisprudence, and reflections on the American history as a nation of immigrants.
