We’ll be talking about the upcoming show “A Slice of Danger,” it’s inception, creation and production… all that goes into creating a unique piece of theatre.

A Slice of Danger is a fictional account of a Honolulu, that never was. Set in Chinatown, Hawaii, a rotten city, full of crooked cops, deadly dames, lousy low-lifes, pizza parlor plagiarists and absurd alliterations. When Detective Kamuela Ho gets caught up in Hope Romano’s world, he never expected to be served A Slice of Danger.

Two Weekends Only! March 19-22 – 26-29:
A Slice of Danger – a film noir comedy at The ARTS at Marks Garage

This Spring 2015, the808wonderland and JJ Dolan’s presents: A Slice of Danger. A #ChinatownHIMystery Film Noir Comedy at The ARTS at Marks Garage for two weekends only March 19th-22nd & 26th-29th.

The recipe for A Slice of Danger?
One part Film Noir, a dash of Drama, add One Hardboiled Detective, One Femme Fatale, blend in an Ensemble of Screwball Suspects, top off with some Crisp Dialogue and a heavy helping of Witty One-Liners, Double-Entendres, Two possible Endings, and you’ve got a tantalizing tale for the tastebuds.

Starring Garrick Paikai as Detective Kamuela Ho, Kaitlin Souza as Femme Fatale Hope Romano, and Christina Uyeno and Amrita Mallik playing the slew of shady suspects.

Script by: Miss Catwings & Garrick Paikai; Directed by: Miss Catwings; Produced by: JJ Dolan’s and the808wonderland; Lighting Design by: Cora Yamagata; Set Design by: Eric West; Photos & Poster Design by: Cheyne Gallarde of www.firebirdphoto.com; Video and Photo Archiving by: Dan Baram; Interns: Hannah Cordill & Cat Jacobs

A Slice of Danger is an original film noir comedy written by Miss Catwings with co-writer Garrick Paikai (On The Spot Hawaii Artistic Director). This is Miss Catwings first stab at writing, directing and producing a full-length film noir comedy theatrical production. Although Catwings has directed before (Varietease: Last Chance Saloon, 2012 at The ARTS at Marks Garage), and produced and co-produced music, burlesque and variety shows over the last decade (the808wonderland, Hallowbaloo Music + Art Festival, Mardi Gras Carnaval, Cherry Blossom Cabaret, Double Rainbow Burlesque Productions), this will be her greatest feat yet.

Mahalo to JJ Dolan’s for being our BIG CHEESE sponsor and allowing us to serve this tasty tale to the public.
