Mr. Oki is a lawyer practicing with the Hawaii law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, where he focuses on helping Japanese companies in the areas of business law, real estate development, and immigration. Mr. Oki was born and raised in Tokyo, went to college in Missouri, and attended the William S. Richardson School of Law in Hawaii. He recently chaired the 2018 Friendship Meeting between the Hawaii State Bar Association and the Dai-Ichi Tokyo Bar Association. The HSBA and the DITBA entered into a “Friendship Agreement” in 2005 and have been holding biennial meetings either in Tokyo or Honolulu ever since. We will discuss the meaning and goals of “Friendship Agreements” between Bar Associations in general and the HSBA-DITBA Friendship Agreement in particular. The host for this episode is Mark Shklov.
