Flowing Freely & Empowering Women with Kiran Gandhi
Kiran Gandhi is a music industry thinker, artist and women’s rights activist. In the industry, she served as Interscope Records first-ever digital analyst between 2011-2013 and most recently advised Spotify on how to provide more innovative support for creators today. She won GrammyU’s annual Business Plan Competition by proposing a viable pay structure for a streaming serve that would appease labels and artists alike. As a musician, she toured internationally drumming for artist M.I.A in 2013 and DJ duo Thievery Corporation in 2010, and now produces music under her own project Madame Gandhi. As an activist, Kiran partners with various menstrual rights organizations to improve women’s access to affordable and safe menstrual care. She is perhaps most well-known for running the London Marathon bleeding-freely to combat period stigma around the world. Her dream is to use music and activism to make the world a better place for women. Host Donna Blanchard will talk with Kiran about the relationship she’s establishing between her love of mathematics, drumming, poetry, activism and theory of Atomic Living.
