Number 3: From the series “Law Across The Sea” on 12/10/2018 hosted by Mark Shklov, it’s called “Violence Entrepreneurs for Sale on the Internet; Violence Entrepreneurs” with guest Nicole Grove.

Nicole Grove is the author of a recent article titled “Weapons of mass participation: Social Media, violence entrepreneurs, and the politics of crowdfunding for war”, which appeared in the European Journal of International Relations. Her article discussed the appearance of non-state combatants fighting ISIS in Syria and Iraq, who she refers to as “violence entrepreneurs”, and who may represent a new generation of violence and a new way of warfare in many respects, especially in the use by these “violence entrepreneurs” of crowdfunding and social media. The host for this episode is Mark Shklov. The guest for this episode is Nicole Grove. We will discuss the appearance of “Violence Entrepreneurs”: who, what, and why they are, their history, their use of social media to fund themselves and their activities, and what their existence reveals about contemporary culture, law, politics, and warfare.

Jay Fidell and Ray Tsuchiyama on one of our favorite pet peeves, roads and traffic in Hawaii. A study of the growth of freeways, traffic, techniques to ameliorate traffic, bike paths and of course potholes, on Oahu and on the neighbor islands.
