20th anniversary of the MLK Jr. Peace Poem Project. What does peace means to you? Mahatma Gandhi once said that ” Peace is the most powerful weapon of mankind.” How can we inspire and foster thoughts, conversations and learning opportunities about peace in our communities? Twenty years ago, Melinda Gohn had a thought-provoking idea: how about we create a platform where we invite teachers from all schools and islands in the state of Hawaii to engage their students, starting in Kindergarten to learn and write about civil rights and peace, and everything linked to it, and share their thoughts with the community every year?
The host for this episode is Beatriz Cantelmo. The guests for this episode are Marsha Joyner and Melinda Gohn.
