Advocating for Social Change, Healthy Communities and Equitable Societies with Dr. Jackie Young
Dr. Jackie Young is a consultant, speaker, lifelong learner, volunteer and advocate for social change and healthy communities. She has consistently worked to reduce discrimination and create a more equitable society. Dr. Young formerly served as an appointed member of the Hawai‘i State Judicial Selection Commission and the Hawai‘i State Advisory Committee for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and a board member of the American Civil Liberties Union of Hawai‘i and the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge Campaign. On the national level, she is a member of the U.S. Department of Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services. Marsha Rose Joyner, host of Navigating the Journey, welcomes Dr. Young to the program for a discussion on advocacy for social change.
