2016 Hawaii Clean Energy Day – 2030 OR BUST: REALITY CHECK
Furthering the Forum’s mission of enlightening decision-makers and the public on ways to achieve the preferred energy vision of our Ten-Point Plan, the Forum sought to bring policymakers, energy stakeholders, and the public together to address issues of significance in advancing clean energy. Begun in 2009, it continues to address issues, challenges and opportunities in clean energy development. The event highlights include an annual update on what’s happening in clean energy development; issues and controversies that require our attention; exhibits showcasing their products and services; and opportunities for networking.
With new technologies and challenges in the post NextEra era, Hawaii’s policies, investments and organizations must undergo transformative change to meet the State’s ambitious clean energy goals. Decisions and actions must be made today if we are to meet the 2045 goals. To make sure we are on track, the Forum takes a reality check this year, looking at the specific actions we’ve taken and need to take to get to the 2030 Milestones.
This year’s program focuses on ACTION in Getting to Our Clean Energy Future – in electricity and stored energy AND transportation. It’s time to regroup and rethink what we will do in the chapter to come. No better way to find out than at Hawaii Clean Energy Day.
