Kona Coast Organics greenhouse operation is located in Kailua-Kona on the Big Island. They grow top-quality, organic, pesticide and GMO-free produce using both aero- and hyrdoponic methods. Products include leafy-lettuce varieties, basil, and 5 kinds of heirloom cherry tomatoes. They serve the island of Hawaii and make a special effort to service the low income, seniors, and underprivileged through a partnership with their local food bank. They will be on today’s show to discuss their philosophy on “you are what you eat” and how that influences their operations, and they’ll discuss their 4-week campaign to raise $5,000 with Barnraiser that ends on April 12th.
