Violence Entrepreneurs. Nicole Grove is the author of a recent article titled “Weapons of mass participation: Social Media, violence entrepreneurs, and the politics of crowdfunding for war”, which appeared in the European Journal of International Relations. Her article discussed the appearance of non-state combatants fighting ISIS in Syria and Iraq, who she refers to as “violence entrepreneurs”, and who may represent a new generation of violence and a new way of warfare in many respects, especially in the use by these “violence entrepreneurs” of crowdfunding and social media.
