Professor Chhuon is a faculty member in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota. His research and teaching address the needs of immigrant and marginalized students, examine the relationships between educational institutions, families, and social context, and employ interdisciplinary frameworks for the study of education.
A first generation Cambodian American, Professor Chhuon received a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Arizona, a Master of Arts in Education Psychology from Californian State University—Northridge, and a Doctor of Philosopy in Education with a focus on Child and Adolescent Development from University of California, Santa Barbara.
