Training in Energy and Other Industries (Perspectives on Energy)
Industrial Workforce Development. The host for this show is Guillermo Sabatier. The guests are Jill James and Suzie Espling.
The energy and electric utility industries are facing a shortfall of engineers and other STEM professionals in the workforce. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, economic projections point to a need for approximately 1 million more STEM professionals than the U.S. will produce at the current rate by 2025. This is a critically important challenge, especially if we hope to remain competitive as a nation or group of nations in science and technology. What is worrisome is that this also affects STEM-related roles not just in this industry, but across most others.
