The Magical Composer from Wisconsin (Journeys of the Mind)
The Music of Richard Slamiszkis. The host for this show is Carl Ackerman. The guest is Richard Slamiszkis.
Richard Slamiszkis Smith played the piano when he was 3 years old, and wrote his first piece of music when he was seven. Taking music theory classes at both Columbia University and at the University of Wisconsin (Madison), he still considers his real teachers: the composers of the music he listened to as a young man. We enjoy listening to this composer of music for many audiences, who come to O’ahu often to write his music.
