Take it to the Bank
Jerry Sumida is a partner in the Carlsmith Ball law firm and is Chair of the firm’s Corporate & Business Practice Group. From October 1999 to January 2003, Jerry served as the General Counsel of the Asian Development Bank, an international financial institution based in Manila, Philippines. There he led an international legal staff of 29 attorneys who engaged in project financing, law and policy reform, environmental and emerging issues in developing countries in Asia and the Pacific. He also helped to arrange for ADB to hold its Annual Meeting in Honolulu in 2001 and engaged in cooperative initiative with other international financial institutions, including the World Bank Group and the Organization for Economic Development and Cooperation (OECD). He returned to Carlsmith in 2003, where he continues to work extensively in energy matters, including renewable energy projects and initiatives.
