Hyperspectral Sensors and Research with Paul Lucey
HIGP currently operates AHI (Airborne Hyperspectral Imager) which is an imaging spectrometer covering the spectral range 7.5-11.5 microns. AHI was funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to investigate the utility of hyperspectral imaging for detection of buried land mines in a project called the Hyperspectral Mine Detection Program (HMD). Prof. Lucey shares this project’s success and its various applications outside of military use.
