How Much like a Proxy Vote is a Proxy War (Keeping the World Company)
Why Do we Have so Many of them. The hosts for this show are Jay Fidell and Tim Apicella. The guest is Jean Rosenfeld.
Our panel discusses the proxy wars now going on in Eastern Europe and in the Middle East. What’s the difference between a proxy war, an asymmetric war and a traditional war, why do we seem to be having more of them these days, and how do you defend against a proxy war. Of course, proxy wars are not new, and our panel discusses a number of examples in history, including proxy wars by the US. What are the pros and cons. Why do a proxy war instead of a direct confrontation? And how do you plan and execute a proxy war, and how do you continue it as a kinetic war, a cyber war, and / or a war of attribution. How has weapons technology changed proxy wars. Will this be the future of war in the 21st century, and is it something that could be more or less destructive than before. Should we we plan for or try to avoid proxy wars going forward.
