Appeal to Culture – Title Nine to the Hawaii Supreme Court with Justice Sabrina McKenna
Justice Sabrina McKenna was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where she played on the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine Basketball Team. She graduated with a BA in Japanese and then earned her Juris Doctor at William S. Richardson School of Law. She was in private and in house corporate law practice and was a Judge in State District and Circuit Courts before being nominated by Governor Abercrombie to Hawaii’s highest court. Justice McKenna has served on the Supreme Court of Hawaii since February 16, 2011. Justice McKenna and Mark discuss her cultural background in Japan and her life in the law and as a Judge.
