A Tiny Solution to a BIG Housing Problem (Code Green)
Tiny homes for low-income folks and homeless. The host for this episode is Howard Wiig. The guests for this episode are Connie Mitchell and James Pakele.
The average price of a single family home is $750,000 and many workers make $15 an hour and less. The resulting housing crisis indirectly pulls all Hawaii residents down. One excellent solution is tiny homes (1,000 sq. ft. and less, cost beginning at $20,000) for low-income folks and micro homes for the homeless (very small living spaces clustered around a common bathroom/kitchen/gathering space area.) The presenters are on the front lines of providing such housing and will describe real-world solutions that are working now.
