Hawaiian Humane Society—over 125 years of service to Hawaii (Out and About)
People for Animals. Animals for People. The Hawaiian Humane Society, formed in 1883, is Oahu’s only open-admissions
shelter open every day of the year. A focus of animal lovers with programs and
services strengthening the animal-human bond, the organization rescues abused
animals, advocates for better laws in animal welfare, educates people and cares
for over 20,000 animals each year. Today we will discuss some of the many
programs and services the Hawaiian Humane Society provides and give people a
chance to know this organization better.
