ThinkTech Testimonials

Here are some of the responses we’ve received to our email advising the community that we will be cutting back on our talk shows going forward.

What an incredibly important contribution you made, Jay. I count myself fortunate to have had your help, guidance, and empowerment. You have my admiration and aloha. Love, Larry

I am so sorry to hear this news. You have been an important voice in our community so this will be a real loss.  I want to thank you for all the opportunities you gave me to talk about the various projects I’ve been involved with over the years and especially for the opportunity to host Work ReImagined.  Interestingly enough, several of the early stage innovators I interviewed have been scaling their projects and doing great things in their communities. I feel grateful for having them on my show to tell their stories when they were first starting out.  Wishing you the best in your next endeavors. I know you’ll be doing great things!  Aloha, Ruby

All good things… Sorry to hear this. Proud of my small part as host and guest. We will all be poorer as a result.  You still deserve that white hat.   Best and aloha always, Peter

Oh no.  So sad to hear.  Have enjoyed creating content for you and looked forward to do for a long while.  Will do best to schedule final month of programming. Aloha, Joshua

We would love to do those concluding shows with you as the true dean of architecture of our archi- pelago.  Warmly, Martin

The demise of such a critical forum is such a shame. It is surprising that the major sponsors of ThinkTech, who have supported all these years have cut back on their support… I would have given more to ThinkTech, had I known the circumstances, assuming that your major donors had the  necessary funds well covered…  Such sad news.  Best, George

Thank you and it was a great 7 year run. I’m  forever grateful for the opportunity you provided. If there ever is any way I can be of value to you. Let me know.  Prince

All good things have to come to an end. You have been an inspiration to me for years. Your dedication, your consistency, and most importantly your integrity has given me a very strong commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. I will never forget my beginning of Seymour’s World with you. Think Tech was my inaugural foray into broadcasting. Your encouragement was the motivating factor in my efforts to bring messages of hope, gratitude and positive reinforcement to our audience.  Be well my friend, enjoy time for yourself and your family. Rest assured you have made your mark in Hawaii and it has been an absolute pleasure to work with you.  Aloha, Seymour

This is a sad day, indeed! Thank you so much for the experience of hosting shows for almost 5 years. I enjoyed working with you and the staff and learned so much!  I must say that I knew this day would ultimately come and so had decided to continue as long as possible. I also appreciate that some of my friends (Chris Lynders, Elaine Gallant, and Angela Hayslett) got the opportunity to host shows as well. You’ve been absolutely amazing as a leader and show host. Congratulations for all that you’ve done! Now, retirement?? Wishing you all the best and many Mahalos! Aloha and Mahalo, Katharine

I’m sorry to hear that, but glad to hear your legacy will live on! I will forever be grateful for my time as part of the Thinktech ohana as presenter of Sustainable Hawaii. I learned a lot and hope others did as well. I hope you are able to enjoy a well deserved break. A hui hou, Kirsten

Thank you for updating me on the next phase in the evolution of Think Tech Hawaii. You’ve been a vital voice in Hawaii’s public media landscape for more than two decades… I am confident that voice will remain strong in this new iteration.  Aloha, Robert

It is sad that TTH is being wrapped up. My short but rewarding journey with it has been an amazing experience. Hoping for the very best… Let’s stay in touch.  Looking forward.  Mahalo, Hamzah

I want to thank you for giving me a platform for my hobby. It was a good run, while it lasted. I know how hard you and Hailey and Mike worked to keep this going and I truly appreciate each of you.  I am not going to record any shows in April. My last one was an interview on a book called ” A B+ Life” and I want to end my collaboration with Think Tech Hawaii with that show.  I hope we cross paths again :-). A hui hou!, Mihaela

You fought long and hard Jay!!!  There were many wonderful moments.  Mahalo for that!  Josh

Oh my! ThinkTech is such a great service… Very sad to see this institution closing!

Very sorry to read of this transition. Doubtless many will, justifiably, laud you for your long and valuable contributions to the betterment of Honolulu, Hawaii, and the larger world through running ThinkTech. While I concur with these richly deserved kudos, I want to thank you for so greatly enriching my life, both through the contacts made via Likable Science and especially by having the chance to get to know and talk with you… Very best regards, Ethan

Sorry to read about this Jay but I am sure the decision for you and Carol was not an easy one. I admire your long dedication to free speech and to the community via ThinkTech Hawaii… Cheers,  Steve

Mahalo Jay and Carol for a great run. Nicole

Thank you very much for the opportunity of being a Guest and a Host on ThinkTech Hawaii. It was a wonderful experience for me.  Your insights and hard work created a great vehicle that brought people together, in a positive collaborative manner,  all over the World.   That is an exceptional legacy. Congratulations! Mahalo, Mark

I really want to thank you for all the years of dedicated service and the amazing body of work that Think Tech Hawaii has created thanks to you. Your commitment to informed public discourse done with integrity and an interest in genuine dialogue have stood out in  this community and represent the mark for others to aspire to……Glad to have played at least a small role in your early days.  Thanks again, Robbie

I’m sure this was a very difficult decision, and email to write. What you and Carol accomplished on a volunteer basis over the past 25 years is nothing short of miraculous.  And I’m so happy that the library of Thinktech videos will be maintained on your platform and youtube channel – as I use these resources. I will be making a contribution by the end of the month.  Thank you both for the years of service fostering community conversations and enlightenment.  A hui hou, Debbie

It’s so important to have multiple places to hear about issues from different perspectives and I want to thank you personally for your work.  I have good memories of working with you at HPR and it’s been impressive to see what you have built over the years and connections/content/ideas/storytelling you have created.  Thank you for the update and it’s exciting to hear about the new Legacy Archive program. All the best and take good care, Cat

Saw this email and couldn’t respond quickly due to having a broken heart and teary eyes.  It’s a bitter sweet feeling; I’m sad to see you leave but I do understand, businesses are going through a struggle…  Diane

I am so sad to hear that Think Tech is ending new shows. It broke my heart when I got the email. You always made me feel free to…fully voice my political opinions through many of the Trump years and aftermath. I am more grateful than I can say. My time with you at Think Tech has been one of the most important blessings of my life. I promise not to get too mushy but I can’t guarantee I won’t cry when I say the final goodbye.  Aloha Nui. Mahalo Nui, Cynthia

Thanks for the great work you have done for so many years with ThinkTech. It’s been a great voice in the community and it will be sorely missed. How did this happen that we are getting old? Much love and aloha, Roger

I want to thank you for giving me a platform for my hobby. It was a good run, while it lasted. I know how hard you and Hailey and Mike worked to keep this going and I truly appreciate each of you… I hope we cross paths again 🙂 A hui hou! Mihaela

OMG what a phenomenal run it’s been. And you, the brilliant mastermind of ThinkTech, which defies description but one could make the case that it’s a combination of Broadway shows, comedy hours, sermons, infomercials, and … what is it called when folks who have survived something come together to share their trauma? Aha! Support Group! Thank you, thank you, thank you for all the good you’ve done to bring people together, bring ideas out, give folks a platform and recognition for the good work and good ideas that are all around us and don’t get recognized nearly enough. It’s a lot of work to pull people out of their everyday nose-to-the-grindstone routine and give them a place to be heard. The closest thing that I can think of is the weekly lunches of EAH or the formerly monthly lunches of WiRE, or the biweekly Toastmaster meetings. None of which, unfortunately, have I been going to lately either. ThinkTech was the perfect platform for its time. And you know that phrase about resting on your laurels? Well, if you actually had been presented with laurels every time you deserved them, you’d have a huge fluffy bed of them to rest on by now! I wish I could donate more to the archiving. Looking forward to your next adventure! Maria

Wow! What a hard surprise. I had already lined up a number of shows for the summer. But I also realize it must be an even more difficult change for you. You have given so many people over the years a forum to discuss important issues that affect everyone. You have done a great service to the people of Hawaii, and I appreciate being a part of your shows…Aloha, Ken

This is indeed some sad news, but I am still and always shall be deeply grateful for the opportunity. Working with ThinkTech has been transformative and has given me a new perspective on and appreciation for all the issues and views often presented on the many different series of shows. I will most certainly miss creating our biweekly episodes, but I do believe we have made a lasting impact… It has been the most sincere and profound pleasure to work with you, Hayley and Michael as well! I would be remiss if I did not mention how much I also appreciate everything that Hayley and Michael have done to ensure the success of the show. I have become a better professional, presenter and speaker thanks to their help! If there is anything I can do for them to help, please let me know…I am always here ready to help! Best regards, Guillermo

Thank you, Jay, Hayley and Mike! It has been a great time working with the Think Tech staff. Thank you for the opportunity to share important topics with our community. We will keep in mind that there are ad hoc opportunities for urgent matters. We are forever grateful! Barbara & Marysol

It’s been hard for me to think about writing you since you announced the cessation of regular programing. Not because I/we aren’t deeply grateful for having had these shows, but because I couldn’t concentrate on preparing for these last shows as the “last” ones. They felt like beginnings, as the shows always do – the beginning of going deeper and farther on every topic and with every guest. And with you maintaining the legacy library, I expect this to be the case. But here we are, with all shows “in the can.” And I can turn full attention on thanking you for giving us the opportunity to bring creativity and peace programming to our audiences through the highest-level programming and integrity that ThinkTech Hawaii has always given. It has been an honor to be in your family of shows, and an honor to introduce our audiences to you and your programming across channels… So, not in closing, but in continuation, I/we give you our deepest thanks and appreciation. Mahalo and much love, Phyllis

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR PIONEERING THE WAY FOR THINK TECH HAWAII!!! The community will be at a loss without the regular video shows but creative people will figure out a way to get the word out on matters of great interest. Thank you for your decades of service to the community and the world. You are legends and deserve the recognition and gratitude of many who benefitted from your work. I will keep in touch and see how I can help in my small way. Thank you. Abe Lee
