Aging in Place – Elderly Services (Condo Insider)
Aging Assistance Services for our Kūpuna. The host for this show is Raelene Tenno. The guest is Derrick Ariyoshi.
Hawaii’s population is aging, almost one (1) in five (5) persons is now at age 65 or older and more than a third of all households has at least one person at age 65 or older in their household. Many seniors live on their own and downsized from a single family to a condo. Under HRS 514B-142, a condo board has protections from liability for reporting or referrals made to assist an elderly who may require services. The City and County of Honolulu has an Elderly Affairs Division to assist our kūpuna in services. Derrick Ariyoshi explains the City’s Agency on aging and how to seek services for our kūpuna.
