Step by step, day by day, things are escalating and getting more threatening. What can Biden do. What is the rhetoric we are getting from Trump. What will Trump do when he is in office. What role with Hegseth play if he survives confirmation. How serious is Putin in his nuclear sabre rattling. How is NATO and Europe reacting. Is the escalation limited to what we see in Ukraine, or is it connected to other steps Putin is taking and may take in Europe and perhaps also in the US. We are on the verge of something here, but like Trump’s administration, it’s very hard to say what will happen.
The takeaway was: Sometimes we don’t pay enough attention to what is going on in Ukraine, but the stakes are getting higher and higher, and we really need to stay up on things now.
