Rebecca Lea McCarthy Is An Actor, Writer, Improv Artist, And Educator. She Has A Phd In Comparative Studies And Teaches Communication And Theatre. She Divides Her Time Between The South Sound In Washington State And Hawaii, Where She Is Active In The Theatre Community. Her First Book Is On The Magdalene laundries, origins of The Magdalene Laundries, Which Explores The Long History And Evolution Behind These “Reform” Institutions. her Second Book, Writing The Diaphragm Blues And Other Sexual cacophonies, Explores Female Sexuality From Childhood To Menopause. The Book Was The Inspiration For Rebecca’s One Woman Show: Singing The Diaphragm Blues, Directed By Dale Westgaard, Which Successfully Previewed, April 2014, At The 4th Wall Theatre In Puyallup, Washington, And Appeared At The O’ahu International Fringe Festival In 2015. Dale And Rebecca Are Now Looking To Tour The Production, As Well As Workshops In Improvisation. Rebecca Appears On Shrink Rap With Steve Katz To Discuss Her Many Talents.
