North Korea Is Still Attacking Us! (The Cyber Underground)
The June Summit with President Trump and Kim Jong Un might have helped calm nuclear nerves. But that hasn’t stopped North Korea’s cyber attacks on the United States. The U.S. Government refers to malicious cyber activity by the North Korean government as HIDDEN COBRA, and they’re back at it with TYPEFRAME, which consists of Windows executable files and a malicious Microsoft Word document that contains Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macros. These files have the capability to download and install malware, install proxy and Remote Access Trojans (RATs), connect to command and control (C2) servers to receive additional instructions, and modify the victim’s firewall to allow incoming connections. Join us on this episode of The Cyber Underground for information about how to defend yourself against this latest attack! The host for this episode is Dave Stevens. The guest for this episode is Hal Corcoran.
