Kumu Hula Puanani Alama of Kaimuki and Kumu Hula Puanani Jung of Hālau Hula Lani Ola in Laguna Hills, California reflect on the powerful beauty of the hula connecting generations across time. This week Hawai’i is My MainLand host Kaui Lucas interviews Ms. Alama, the last judge living of the first Merrie Monarch Festival in 1963. Alama and her family are dedicated to uphold hulas legacy in the 21st Century.
