Iran: from a Great Empire to a Rogue State (Global Connections)
Iran: from a Great Empire to a Rogue State; Can it Ever Become a Good Neighbor in the Family of Nations (Global Connections). The host for this show was Jay Fidell. The guest was Roopmati Khandekar.
The discussion was: Roopmati Khandekar, geopolitical analyst, helps us understand the sea changes in Iran, and the origins and implications of Iran’s involvement in the Ukraine-Russia war (as supplier of Shaheed drones to Russia), and the Israel-Hamas war (as the ringmaster for Hezbollah, Hamas and other proxy terror groups). Iran consistently proves itself to be a gratuitous troublemaker, and has been stepping up its schemes and attacks against Israel and the West. What can be done to reign it in. We examine its inner workings and domestic issues, including the evolution of its theocracy and suppression of women and minorities, even after its recent change of leadership. Why did it ostracize its Jewish community years ago, and why is it so completely anti-semitic now. To what extent will it pursue its rogue policies and terror activities going forward.
The takeaway was: Iran is potentially a nuclear power in the Middle East, and given its cruel and aggressive theocracy, we need to follow what is going on there, both domestically and internationally.
